So lately I've been listening to a lot of OSDM. And I'm thinking about picking up Unquestionable Presence, because I love it. Anyways, so far I've listened to Death, MA, and Atheist. I probably forgot a few, but who else should I get?

At The Gates - The Red in the Sky is Ours
Asphyx - The Rack
Deathevokation - The Chalice of Ages (newer band that plays OSDM)
Suffocation - Pierced from Within and Effigy of the Forgotten
Possessed - Seven Churches
Deicide - Deicide and Legion
Obituary - Cause of Death
Amorphis - The Karelian Isthmus

fleshcrawl - descend into the absurd
darkthrone - soulside journey
cartilage - the fragile concept of affection
amorphis - privilege of evil
atg - the red in the sky is ours
atrocity - longing for death
adramelech - psychostasia
demigod - slumber of sullen eyes
autopsy - mental funeral
benediction - subconscious terror
demilich - nespithe
unleashed - shadows in the deep
therion - beyond sanctorum
miasma - changes
cabal - midian
master - '85 LP (unreleased)
death strike - fuckin' death
sepultura - morbid visions

some of the best dm has to offer

bolt thrower - war master / realm of chaos
incantation - mortal throne of nazarene / onward to golgotha
grave - into the grave

^yes. warmaster isn't among my favourite bolt throwers but all their albums are at least decent. as for incantation, go for 'onward to golgotha' first.

Amorphis ~the karelian isthmus

Edge of Sanity ~unorthodox, the spectral sorrows
Dismember ~like an everflowing stream
Carnage ~dark recollections
Grave ~you'll never see
Sorcery ~bloodchilling tales
Necrophobic ~darkside,the nocturnal silence
At The Gates ~gardens of grief, the red in the sky is ours
God Macabre ~the winterlong
Asphyx ~embrace the death,the rack

Autopsy ~severed survival,mental funeral
Possessed ~seven churches
Monstrosity ~imperial doom
Immolation ~dawn of possession

If you have listened a lot to MA already and like them you should go buy Dawn Of Possession by Immolation straight ahead,a real quality album in the same vein.

Cadaver-...In Pains
Eucharist-A Velvet Creation
Infester-To the Depths in Degradation
Sinister-Cross the Styx
Luciferion-Demonication(The Manifest)
Seance-Fornever Laid to Rest & Saltrubbed Eyes

some of the most bludgeoning death/thrash going, lots of huge mid-paced chugging exploding into frenzied intensity with barked hardcore-tinged growls. not as distinctive as most of the others on that list so maybe it doesn't belong there, pretty much epitomises 'old-school' though

This pretty much sums it up.

I just got some deicide, and I really dig it. Out of all the early death metal bands they may be my favorite.

I never really got into morbid angel.
what are some other good early death metal albums? im already a big fan of suffocation, death, and cannibal corpse.

and perhaps i can try getting into morbid angel again?
