recommend me some non-metal THAT ISN'T ABOUT GIRLS/RELATIONSHIPS

I don't really think I'm better than Angus. He's got a few years on me (I'm 31) I was more just alluding to how simple AC DC are, being mostly just three powerchords in some kind of 1, 4, 5 progression.

The difference between you and Angus: he's rich and famous as fuck and you're not.

(ooh another unprovoked attack..now tell me how you could "kick my ass")

True. He's famous and I'm not. I'm not gonna say I'm gonna kick your ass over something that petty (I don't recall threatening to kick your ass before, so I don't know where you got that), but you sure as hell wouldn't intimidate me in person, son. I just laugh when you're a condescending dickhead. I'm more educated than you, stronger than you, taller than you, much better looking than you, and I'm not a super asshole. You are in no position to be condescending.

Different bands have different nitches. Acutally mentioning AC/DC thats probably a good band right there that doesnt have much in the line of luv songs

? AC DC, from what I've heard, seem to pretty much walk the line of the typical rock lyrical fare (ie sex, love, breakup, more sex, etc.). Youuu shook me allll night looonnnggg!"

Why ask for Non-Metal recommendations if you keep making these generalizations?

^Ha, AC/DC is NOT about love. They're about sex, drugs, and rock n' roll. Trust me, if you want songs that aren't about relationships, AC/DC would work fine. Or do you also object to songs that are about just having sex? 'Cause I'll guarantee you that no one has ever used an AC/DC song on a Valentine's Day mix or as the main dance at their wedding.

Well, what I was initially looking for was non-metal bands that don't have typical mainstream non-metal lyrics (relationships, sex, partying), or at least focus on such subject matter in very few of their songs. In other words, bands that have little to no lyrics along the lines of "she said.... she said...." or "baby the way you move....."

You act like being rich and famous brings you happiness, but happiness is relative to your general state of being. So buying that new big screen TV makes you happy when you get it, but after you've had it for a few months life is no better.

Rich and famous people don't go around with giant dumb goofy smiles on, because they're not any happier than the rest of us, though they are equally capable of living happy lives if they know how.

you shook me all night long.......... hardly a "girly" song

dude what ever your issues are with various lyrics...... why in the hell should people even be attempting to help you with........ ANYTHING.

your point throughout this topic seems to have an alternative motivation

find what you like on your own

whats wrong with having very specific tastes in music? I've asked for specific things before and gotten no good results back. It's a pain sometimes but no harm in asking.

Wanna tell you a story
'Bout a woman I know
When it comes to lovin'
Oh she steals the show
She ain't exactly pretty
Ain't exactly small
Forty-two, thirty-nine, fifty-six
You could say she's got it all

Never had a woman
Never had a woman like you
Doing all the things
Doing all the things you do
Ain't no fairy story
Ain't no skin and bones
But you give it all you got
Weighing in at nineteen stone

You're a whole lotta woman
A whole lotta woman
Whole lotta Rosie
Whole lotta Rosie
Whole lotta Rosie
And you're a whole lotta woman

Oh honey you can do it
Do it to me all night long
Only one to turn
Only one to turn me on
All through the night time
And right around the clock
To my surprise
Rosie never stops

You're a whole lotta woman
Whole lotta woman
Whole lotta woman
Whole lotta Rosie
Whole lotta Rosie
Whole lotta Rosie
And you're a whole lotta woman

You're a whole lotta woman
Whole lotta woman
Whole lotta Rosie
Whole lotta Rosie
Whole lotta Rosie
And you're a whole lotta woman, yeah, yeah, yeah
Whole lotta Rosie
Whole lotta Rosie
Whole lotta woman

:zombie: Have you even listened to them for real, actually given them a chance?

Please don't feed that bullshit to me

Calm down. Maybe I didn't phrase my request well, but I was essentially looking for non-metal that for the most part didn't have the typical mainstream non-metal lyrics (sex, relationships, partying). I made the thread more, because I realized that it seemed to me that that kind of subject matter was all mainstream non-metal bands ever talked about in their lyrics.

I know it sounds a lot like the stereotypical "Don't be materialistic, money doesn't matter" crap you've been hearing since you were 2, it's obviously not that simple, but it's not complete bullshit either.

Though I guess it's one of those things that doesn't mean anything from someone telling you, so whatever.

So you based your opinion of ALL non-metal on mainstream top 40 rubbish? Awesome. :erk:
