I might just wait until a decent Rev D comes up on the Sound On Sound for sale section then.

Rev Ds vary greatly from unit to unit, but mine is a bit of a tricky beast. Sounds great on vox, as does the Rev A, but when using it on bass you tend to get a lot of harmonic build-up and resonance. It sounds thick as hell, but it gets quite hard to mix the bass. I normally use the Distressor for metal stuff, to keep it more clean.

I've actually wanted a later revision, cleaner 1176, to do low-end work for a little while now.
