Hi Guys,

Looking for some new Tech DM, been through the list on wikipedia, but hoping to find some better recommendations on here as i always do :headbang:

Enjoying the following artists at the moment;

Decapitated
Cryptopsy
Nile
Anata
Psycroptic
Atheist
Arsis

Something in the vein of Decapitated - The Negation would be excellent...:kickass:

Tech albums in the same vein as The Negation:

Corpus Mortale - A New Species of Deviant
Odious Mortem - Cryptic Implosion
Sickening Horror - When Landscapes Bled Backwards

Look no further than Willowtip Records.

Try Gorod (I've been listening to Leading Visions)- not THE most technical band, but certainly show some flair whilst balancing it with well structured songs with plenty of groove- I'm guessing as you've used The Negation as your prime example, this might be up the kind of thing you're after

I'm not really a Decapitated fan, so I don't know exactly what sounds like that album, but here's my list of tech death, minus those that have already been mentioned.

Aletheian (USA)
Amoral (Finland)
Beneath the Massacre (Canada)
Brain Drill (USA)
Burning the Masses (USA)
Carcariass (France)
Carnophage (Turkey)
Cenotaph (Turkey)
Cyaega (USA)
Dungortheb (France)
Embryonic Devourment (USA)
Esqarial (Poland)
The Faceless (USA)
Fleshmould (Belgium)
Gory Blister (Italy)
Irate Architect (Germany)
Lykathea Aflame (Czech Republic)
Necrophagist (Germany)
Node (Italy)
Origin (USA)
Pitbulls in the Nursery (France)
Psycroptic (Australia)
Quo Vadis (Canada)
Sleep Terror (USA)
Spawn of Possession (Sweden)
Thelema (Belarus)
Theory in Practice (Sweden)
Vastion (USA)

*snip*

Tech death is very meh most of the time.... (not that it cant be done right)

You need to check out Gory Blister so you can hear I Shall Hang Myself... probably the coolest tech death track I've ever heard.

Demilich - Nespithe
Gorguts - Obscura

These are the only technical death metal albums that I'm prepared to recommend right now.

Eh theres a certain thing to it that if you dont' play it right, it sounds like shit. Norma Jean is a good example of a shitty technical band.

Word has gone around that Gorgut's Obscura is the most complex technical album in the technical metal genre.

Definitely one of them, though I recall a bunch of people who are clearly deaf telling me that I was wrong about this a while ago on this forum. I also love how masterfully they utilized dissonant passages.

Decrepit Birth, Sickening Horror, Deeds Of Flesh, Braindrill. Start out here, these 4 SLAY, although I personally have to be in the mood for Braindrill, they have a bit more of a mechanical sound that the other three. SH has some great jazz influence and excellent tempo shifts. DB and DOF are just magnificent death metal all around.
