I forgot this even came out! Their new singer sounds amazing and supposedly they've returned to form. I know I listened to a small sample and from what I remember it sounded pretty good. I've gotta give it a full listen soon.

I's an awesome old school album, and live they absolutely kick ass. Seen them 3 or 4 times this year :D

Copying over my post from the other thread...

10. Whitesnake - Forevermore

There are a number of albums that I just haven't gotten around to yet: Megadeth, Riot, Astral Doors, Jag Panzer, etc, etc

Top of the list of disappointing albums is the new Iced Earth album... what a stinker. Also pretty underwhelmed with Symphony X, Opeth, and Black Country Communion's albums.

Gonna be honest here, I havnt bought much from 2011 and I will be lucky to get a top 5 lol, I spent most of the year catching up on albums and bands that I have been meaning to get for years :)but I will do what I can.

1.Anthrax - Worship Music, This is my album of the year it even edged out Arch/Matheos for me
2.Arch/Matheos - Sympathetic Resonance, well worth the wait and instant classic!!
3.Pagans Mind - Heavenly Ecstasy
4.Megadeth - Thirteen
5.Symphony X - Iconoclast

Two albums that really disapointed me

Iced Earth - Dystopia ... This album was a turd, the last thing I wanted to hear was Stu Bloc impersonating Matt Barlow and Tim Owens, all the ingredients were there but it definately fell short

Morbid Angel - *&*%$$%#%$? whatever it was called, 2 or 3 good songs and the rest was pure garbage, I went in expecting Death Metal and got weak Rammstien blegh

Saw two concerts this year
Manowar
Anthrax/Testament
Both were fucking awsome!!

and my favorite Old School album I got this year
D.R.I. - Thrashzone, I have been loving the classic Crossover sound lately!!

I didn't see any "bad" shows this year, outside of the Prog Power Road Trip, I didn't see that many at all. So I'll list the concert highlights from 2011...

Prog Power 2011 - EVERY single band brought it this past year. Really enjoyed Haken & Voyager....

Morglbl - Orton Park Festival - Nice outdoor food/music fest, LOTS of people became Morglbl fans that night...giant crowd!

Freak Kitchen - The Hangout Florence, SC - Haven't seen my Swedish brothers play together since Prog Power. Not the gretest venue in the world, but there was a small very vocal crowd, made everythying a-ok. The after party was as much fun as the show!

The Aristocrats - Oct. 2011 Chicago - Been friends with Bryan Beller for a while now, and he had this little project with Guitar virtuoso Guthrie Govan, and drummer from hell, Marco Minneman. They sounded so good at NAMM, that they decided to make a cd, and do a little tour. That tour stopped at my favorite club in all of Chicago, Martyr's, and it was an eargasm of killer fusion/rock/metal.

Oh, and I saw the current touring version of Thin Lizzy. I know there are factions here who think TL died when Phil did, but I really have to say, this lineup is pretty damn awesome, and if your a fan of the music, you'll dig their show. I still wish Sykes was in the band....

and speaking of Sykes, my most anticipated release for 2012 is probably the Portnoy/Sykes project they alluded to on That Metal Show. ALWAYS good to hear Sykes back in action, I hope it pans out for them.
