It is pretty standard DM overall but there are short parts here and there that are kind of awesome, like the second part of Death Mask Replica and Burning Angel (Uhuru), the ending in Uhuru is epic, "Left Hand Path epic".

Well, you're not completely wrong. It has less melody, less atmosphere and worse song-writing overall. Still a good album though.
