Ok, so this is my non metal recommendation. If you don't like some electronics in your music, you can probably ignore this
I first discovered this Japanese band through their collaboration with mono. On that album everything is more subdued and low key. It's an absolutely stunning album, and one i can't recommend enough (especially for those into minimal post rock).
WEG's own material is a much more eclectic affair. It's primarily electronic music, but not straight forward by any stretch of the imagination. With most things Japanese it *is* decidedly whacked. Some songs have a post rock feel to them, while others are glitchey deconstructed weirdness (or in the same song). 'Red Red' would be the former, while 'air' would be the latter. Most of their albums have a mixture of both styles and then some. It's instrumental with the occasional sample here and there. Occasionally they remind me of some rpg music as well. In general, the band strikes a nice balance between beauty and chaos. If anyone likes what they hear i can upload some more
