Your favourite chords?

Haven't really seen many threads about music theory or writing in here. Everyone is so generous with their samples and practises so I figured people might want to do the same with some fancy chords. I wonder which joker will be the first to say:

Here's a few that I frequently use, all in the context of lowest-open-string minor:

This is the III interval in the context of C minor. The same shape also works starting on the 8th fret (IV). It's basically stacking a major 7th chord on top of a power chord. The shape also works well starting on the root (I) or V positions too, but you would play the highest note a semitone lower to make it a minor 7th rather than a major.

(you could play this an octave lower on the open strings, but it actually works better if the root of the key you're in is lower down the fretboard, so you're fretting it somewhere between say the 5th and 9th fret).

I love nearly all extended chords. Things like m9, 11th chords, and my favorite m6add9. I also use a lot of borrowed chords

I mainly use them for clean playing. For distorted playing, I like to use a lot of suspensions and neapolitan chords.

But those add9 chords are awesome. I use them all the time. Opeth are a goldmine if you are looking for wierd chordprogressions and chords. It's not often you'll hear a simple powerchord in a opethsong..

Shit! I forgot that it was the 12th fret and 10th fret instead of 10 and 8, damnit. But yeah, they use so many fucked up chords, it's great.

I would call that first one an augmented chord, you could make it diminished by playing it like this

I would call the second one a standard inverted minor chord.
