Nothing wrong at all with headbanging, it's a great way to get out your energy without being too intrusive on those around you. It's only when those with long hair start whipping it in peoples' faces that it gets truly annoying. If those with really long hair headbang in an up and down motion rather than the windmill motion, it almost always solves the problem.

Other than that, :headbang: 'til you drop.

If you have plenty of room, have at it. But if you're sardined in with others, show some respect.

Heh. THe shows I go to are full of dumb drunks so after awhile I couldn't give a shit about them beacuse they don't give a shit about anyone else, but of course PPUSA is a different thing.

It's funny how a lot of people actually think that there are people here that have a problem with headbanging in general. I have yet to see any post where someone said that they want all headbanging banned (which would be completely ridiculous). Please show me any post(s) that say they are against all headbanging (respectful or not).

I've actually seen some comments about it here. I remember in 2005 reading a post about someone here really upset about that girl with the long blonde hair headbanging in the photo pit during Orphaned Land, and another time that I can't recall or dont' want to search for.

I mean, I go to concerts and there is moshing. It's annoying, sure, especially uncomfortable if you're a girl, but I can't really bitch because it was my decision to be in there in the first place.

I mean as far as I know, people do these things normally don't they? People have been moshing/headbanging for years now, so it's not like it's a new thing that people that do it too much or "too crazy" are disrespecting. Some people get drunk and do really annoying things, but like I said, I try to suck it up because it's totally my choice to be there.

And personally I don't know how someone can stand there (**MY OPINION**) without moving to a band they LOVE. I mean, I'm excited so! If I get excited about a band, I express it, whatever comes to me I do. Wether I jump up and down for the entire set or whatever.. I just can't stand there (like Epica like year, I did notice some people looked annoyed but in that moment I really didn't even care).

You can often get an even better view from the back, that's how I think about it. So go there if you mind it. :]

Oh. My. God.

I thought it was bad enough with people threatening not to come this year if there was a chance a light might shine in their face temporarily. Excuse me for wanting a concert going experience not akin to sitting in my living room with headphones, being careful not to scrunch up the carpet by toetapping too hard.

THANK YOU

Is PP starting to get politically correct?? I can't EVEN BELIEVE this thread was started. I agree with no moshing or crowd surfing, but headbanging is part of it.

Future threads:

1. Do you mind people throwing the horns??
2. Do you mind people yelling the lyrics??
3. Do you mind people drinking in the venue??
4. Do you mind profanity?? (FUCK no!!)
5. Do you mind the music being loud??
6. Do you mind guitars in the bands??
7. Do you mind people moving??

Peace,
Chris :headbang:

Believe me, I don't just stand there. I headbang too! :headbang: Everyone should express themselves! As I stated before, I always move (usually to one side or the other) if I'm getting whipped by someones's sweaty hair. But, I certainly wouldn't want, nor expect everyone to stop headbanging in general. That would would seem so dead. :ill: Not to mention, if I was in a band and looked out into the audience and saw a bunch of stoic statues, I wouldn't want to play there again! Again, those that have long hair, just try to be aware of your surroundings, respect others, as I did when I had long hair.

I don't care if this post gets deleted or not, it has to be said...

If you are at any type of Hard Rock or Metal show, and I do mean ANY TYPE...and you mind somebody headbanging anywhere around you...

then you are a straight-up fag and your ass deserves to be taken out back and given the beating of your life, because you sure as Hell shouldn't be allowed inside for any reason, other than to change your Man-tampon.

i think its been stated clearly

people dont mind headbanging they just dont like getting smoked in the face with hair

is that so god damn bad?

some of you are basically saying

ZOMG HANG THE HEADBANGAR HATERS AND PISS ON THEIR CORPSES

wow, sorry if id rather watch the band than shielding myself from extremely long sweaty hair.

people CAN headbang WITHOUT smacking people in the face with their hair, end of story.

Laugh of the day! Thanks...

The only things that have ever bothered me at a ProgPower event are:

1) The anonymous flatulence that strikes from time to time on the floor in front of the stage. Always unpleasant. Do me a favor and don't eat whatever the hell gives you gas before the show, whoever you are.
2) The moshing that occured when Rage played that both detracted from enjoying the band, and because one mosher was deliberately bothering a female attendee.

That's a pretty short list for a metal show. Headbang all you like - it makes many bands feel like you are enjoying the show more. I don't personally have this urge, but it does not effect me in any way for others to do it.
