I actually love it. I think it smoothes out the high end, and it makes my tones pretty much exactly what I wish/hoped they would be. I cannot stand fizzy, harsh, spikey high end, and this makes it so much smoother to me. Horses for courses I guess.

It's all about personal preference. I much prefer the snares from metal machinery, but I'm not a huge fan of the cymbals from Metal Foundry. There are some good ones, but I feel like there are alot of weird overtones, and resonances with that pack as well. I know you said you've moved on from...

I know what you mean on the weird cymbal resonances. I try to find the cymbals with the least displeasing resonances/overtones, and then notch them out. On the snares I use a multiband around the low mids, and it seems to help the snares cut through the mix better, and get rid of muddiness.
