    LEAH: The Quest

I have the record and it's quite excellent. If you thought the previous album was too progressive and too long (the most common complaint), you will like this very much as it's a quite compact 54 minutes. It's also produced a lot better and the folk metal influences are stronger.

    Lost in Thought...are back.

It also reveals the album art and title, as well. Would love to contribute but can't right now.

Top 4 artists you want to see on Fri & Sat?

Redemption, it's not even a close battle, although Persefone is a solid second. VUUR and Sons of Apollo behind it.

    Riverside: Wasteland

I don't blame them given what's happened to them, but the band has claimed Wasteland as a cathartic album for said tragic circumstances. I am very hopeful that this album will be counted among their best, even if the chance remains very thin that it can equal the perfection of ADHD.

    TESSERACT: Sonder

The song is really good. Reminds me of Polaris somewhat but heavier. Now, if someday TesseracT would get invited to PP I think they'd impress a lot of fans.

    Roster Update - Kingcrow Cancels

This was my one nightmare scenario for Wed/Thu when I saw the roster. The biggest two draws are now Voyager and Angra and I have already seen them both. Nocturnal Rites is going to be a great set, but lacking Kingcrow, the bill might not even be strong enough for me anymore. Unless there is a...

One off or two off CD that were brilliant

Echoes are actually working on a new album, although given their gigantic geographical diaspora (including Venezuela, Spain, and Austria) I understand the extended delay. I still talk to their keyboard player occasionally and last I heard the band got together in Madrid to record the new album...

    Top 50 of 2017

I remember that Glenn had said in advance of the PoS that "I suggest fans lower their expectations of the album," so it's not really a surprise to see it miss the list. I expected Disperse to make it, though. MindMaze, Pyramaze, Galactic Cowboys, and Anthriel are some of my other power or...

    THRESHOLD: Legends Of The Shires

Rich has stated in interviews, in accordance with my own viewpoint too, that Glynn is fairly similar to Mac stylistically. I am not surprised to see the setlist concentrate mainly on Mac's songs and I can say I'm very happy with Glynn's performance.

GALACTIC COWBOYS: Long Way Back To The Moon

This album is now out. It's terrific. Sounds like Machine Fish and Space In Your Face with some flashes of the debut. Still as rifftastic and wryly humorous as ever. Galactic Cowboys DEFINITELY need a PP invite. We've been trying this past year but hopefully 2019 should be their day.

    ANTHRIEL: Transcendence

"Siren's Song" was originally intended to be on The Pathway, actually.

ProgPower USA XIX (2018) Roster announced

If you mean the country will shut down without the six guys of Persefone in it, not too inaccurate actually :tickled:

    Speculation for 2018 PPUSA lineup?

A hypothetical Fri/Sat lineup based on a mixture of wants and expected picks: InnerWish Tetrafusion Persefone Cellador Threshold (my number one wish, not even close) Nocturnal Rites Disperse Signum Regis Iris Divine Europe Eluveitie James LaBrie

    Vanden Plas PP XVIII

No, but word has it from multiple people who know them that most of the members are. Most of the albums have mild to very strong spiritual content. The Seraphic Clockwork is not my #1 Vanden Plas album, actually my #2, but is my personal favorite due to the profound lyrical concept. This album...

    THRESHOLD: Legends Of The Shires

I think Glynn will allow some of the Mac songs to be performed at the level they were meant to again. Damian was a phenomenal singer but his style doesn't have much grit or gravel and the Mac songs often require that. Some of Glynn's lines on this new song sound like how Mac would have delivered...

TUESDAY THE SKY: Drift, ft FATES WARNING's JIM MATHEOS

I have this and it's very enjoyable. One of the reasons I love the latter-day FW records, even more so than the "classic" period, is the dripping sense of forlorn atmosphere throughout, and I love this because it dives headlong into the atmospheric element of Matheos' songwriting. With that...

    MINDMAZE: Resolve

This is an excellent disc with very impassioned singing and emotional lyrics that deliver more than a few punches to the gut. Then there's the last song that is tremendously uplifting and really gets to me at the end. The guitar playing stands out especially in the lead work. The bass is very...

Daydream XI join the PP USA XVIII roster

It is barely four months before the festival, which is quite tight and about Glenn's borderline before he's said he will go domestic only. However, given how quickly all of the issued visas this year have been processed, I'd support taking a shot at getting it done in four months and a week.
