a little something about nightingale

so all the forums and bands discussed here are metal right? or at least most of them
but nightingale is so soft and with so many combinations,flips and changes that I don't know if that is considered metal
and if it is,why?
also,on the song "steal the moon" is it a moog what starts on the second minute? because it sounds pretty good and makes me think of prog rock bands from the 70's.the entire closing chronicles album makes me remember that music.
