Hello dear Metalheads,

I bet there are lots of "new/young" metal fans who don't know about Thunderstick, SLIPKNOT's precursor... he's my idol!

This is my Thunderstick site:

Beware, this is not self-promotion. I'm just a fan.

Thunderstick was the masked drummer for SAMSON (1979-1981), the very first band of Bruce Dickinson, before he would join Iron Maiden.

Thunderstick left the band in 1981 and formed his own band, called "Thunderstick" (1981-1988). Female fronted NWOBHM.
He released 1 EP + 1 LP.

Heaven & Hell Records will release the second full feature album in 2012, the one Thunderstick couldn't release in 1986.

In 1999/2000 Thunderstick rejoined Samson for a successful reunion tour (see YouTube).

It's not self promotion, but its promotion none the less and thus against the rules.

I'll let it go for now and give you a chance to become part of our community. That means giving input on other subjects we debate here as well. If you are not interested in that, this tread will disappear.

Don't worry, I'm here to talk metal... at 360 grades.

Welcome aboard. I only have one Samson album, a part of NWOBHM that never got me.

I guess theatricals in rock are as old as Alice Cooper, Peter Gabriel (Genesis) and Kiss, all the way through King Diamond, Thunderstick to recently Ghost.

Thank you man for the nice welcoming. Me thinks "Head On" (1980) and "Shock Tactics" (1981) are strictly NWOBHM, while "Survivors" (1979) was much more experimental and "rock-oriented". Anyway, all 3 are sublime masterpieces, and everyone involved delivered the best.

I have "Head On" and didn't grab enough my attention (even with Bruce on vocals) so I was deterred from checking the other material, I may go some day.
