WHAT IS YOUR ALL TIME FAVORITE COVER A BAND HAS DONE?

(this has proberbly been posted before, but i have never seen it)

I really like:
Cradle Of Filth : Hallowed Be Thy Name (Not A Great C.O.F Fan Though)
Dimmu Borgir : Burn In Hell (twisted sister cover)
In Flames : Murders In The Rue Morgue (needs no introduction hawhaw)

Okay, I have an absolute be all end all favorite for this topic...

Vanden Plas' cover of Kansas' "Point of No Return" is just perfect...

It keeps the same tone and sounds true to the original version, while at the same time stepping it up and just making it an all around better song. It is the perfect cover, and if you haven't heard it yet, I suggest you go download it and give it a listen...

Graveworm - R.E.M Losing my religion (black metal version) is pretty funny. But it actually manages to dispose of the annoyingness of that song and still retain emotion

Iron Maiden - Cross Eyed Mary
Slayer - Dissident Aggressor
Anthrax - Antisocial
Def Leppard - Action
Judas Priest - Jonny B Goode
Sepultura - Orgasmatron
Obituary - Circle Of The Tyrants
WASP - Locomotive Breath

etc.

Gentleman of the Lake said:
Metallica - Am I Evil, Breadfan, and many others
Black Sabbath - Warning
Cathedral - Solitude
Rainbow - Still I'm Sad

I did not know that Sabbath song was a cover. Who did the original?

Dodheimsgard - Geen Cave Float (Darkthrone)
Gehenna - Transylvanian Hunger (Darkthrone)
Dimmu Borgir - Metal Heart (Accept)
At The Gates - Legion (Slaugtherlord)
Cryogenic - Dunkelheit (Burzum)
The Syre - Black Spell of Destruction (Burzum)
My Dying Bride - Some Velvet Morning (uh... dunno, some 70's-pop band)

Kreator - Grinder (Judas Priest)
Testament - Rapid Fire (Judas Priest)
Fear Factory - Cars (The Cars)
Testament - Sails of Charon (Scorpions)
OSI - Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun (Pink Floyd)
Machine Head - S.O.S. (The Police)

Worst: Lenny Kravitz - American Woman. He totally loses the feel by omitting the signature little smoky lead/melody. The rest of the song is good, but that part is so KEY.
