CDV Software Entertainment USA and Nuclear Blast Records USA have announced that Hansi Kürsch and André Olbrich, lead vocalist and lead guitarist of the definitive power metal band BLIND GUARDIAN, will take part in an autograph-signing session in the Sacred 2: Fallen Angel area (Booth 5129) at this year's Comic-Con International in San Diego.

The bandmembers will be available on Friday and Saturday, July 25 and July 26, from 5 to 6 p.m. to meet fans and promote a new song written exclusively for Sacred 2: Fallen Angel. Fans will also be able to visit the booth to enjoy hands-on play time with Sacred 2: Fallen Angel, the action-RPG set to release this fall on PC and next-generation consoles.

"The opportunity for BLIND GUARDIAN to work on a popular video game is quite exciting alone," said singer Hansi Kürsch. "For us to contribute to and have our band exist within a game as rich as Sacred 2: Fallen Angel has been very rewarding for us, as gamers and fans of the Sacred series."

"We've been long-time fans of BLIND GUARDIAN's music," added developer Ascaron Entertainment's founder Holger Flöttmann. "The opportunity to have one of our favorite bands write a song and include their alter egos in-game has been a wonderful experience. It also signifies how great music and amazing games can fit together to deliver an even more enjoyable experience to gamers.'

"The members of BLIND GUARDIAN and their U.S. record label, Nuclear Blast, have been extremely easy to work with," indicated Mario Kroll, Director of Marketing and Public Relations for CDV Software Entertainment USA. "To have musicians of this caliber and popularity not only help and create, but also promote Sacred 2: Fallen Angel is something we're incredibly excited about."

Sacred 2: Fallen Angel will be released on PC in September 2008. Console versions will be released in November. A Sacred 2 video trailer can be viewed below.

BLIND GUARDIAN merchandise will be available for purchase throughout the convention at the Nuclear Blast area (Booth 116) at Comic-Con Inernational.

Blind Guardian in a video game?! WTF?! And then someone flies them in all the way from Germany for a game nobody cares about? How about putting some time into a new CD or a new tour? Seems like a real waste of time to me.

Well, it's huge for gamers who actually DO care. It's also big for the band, who are avid game players.

1.8 mil games sold is hardly a sales number for a game nobody cares about. The game developer is based out of Germany. The band loves the game and are likely very excited to participate on the soundtrack and appear in the game. hardly a waste of time when you get to be involved with something you are passionate about.

My brother just happened to be going this so I sent all the inserts/booklets from my Blind Guardian albums with him in case he gets the chance to have them signed.

Do you always post from the Twillight Zone? o_O You seem to have some interesting stances.

Im proud to be part of that "nobody" crowd for once.

the game looks really cool.

Well, how about learning a bit about it before jumping into conclusions? It makes sense. The game developer is German, the band has always wanted to do something like that and they happen to love the game. It's not just great to see them doing this simply because they are passionate about it (like Jibrille said), but also because it's a damn good PR/marketing thing. Fans of the band who are into games will probably want to check out the game. Gamers who enjoy the game and the soundtrack, will most likely become interested in who Blind Guardian is. It works both ways.

If you're so sour about it, go eat a spoonful of sugar. Jeez...

True my stances are unique. I've spent too much of my life agreeing with people all the time and saying "That sounds great" when all I want to say is "Thats so stupid"! Or remaining silent SO..... now if I want to say something I say it. That way no one can ever accuse me of not speaking my mind. And oh by the way..the title of this thread IS wrong AND misleading. Blind Guardian are not nor will be in the USA. Two MEMBERS of the band will be.

Pyramaze - thanks for posting this! My buddy is heading down to SD (I won't be able to make it) so he'll get some things signed for me. I appreciate the heads up!!

It seems to me that you wasted a lot of your life. There's nothing weaker than being afraid of speaking your mind. Good for you that you can actually do it.

What are you, an English professor? Interesting thing is that I got the press release sent by Nuclear Blast Records announcing Blind Guardian appearing at Comic Con 2008, and the headline was "Blind Guardian Appear at Comic Con 2008 To Promote CDV's Sacred 2: Fallen Angel." There was nothing misleading about it. Technically, Hansi and Andre are representing Blind Guardian. And yes, Comic Con is in the USA so they will in fact be here.

Blind Guardian is a band, not two members. It should be all or nothing.

There's a certain amount of eloquence one can use when showing disagreement with a statement/opinion/stance without invoking disrespect. There's nothing wrong with speaking your mind, but you certainly don't need to come off as a jerk about it.
