According to KNAC.com, about two weeks ago while gardening at his home, legendary metal vocalist Ronnie James Dio had a pretty bad accident. As something fell over in the garden, he apparently tried to catch it, and in doing so, his thumb was severed off. Doctors were able to re-attach it, and Dio is reportedly doing fine.
As previously reported, DIO's "Sacred Heart" concert video from 1986 is scheduled to be reissued on DVD in February 2004 through Warner Strategic Marketing. Featured on the disc will be bonus footage including interviews with current band members Dio, Craig Goldy, Simon Wright and Jimmy Bain. The band will reportedly discuss the "Sacred Heart" tour, the recent "Stand Up and Shout: Dio Anthology" CD release and the group's forthcoming album.
