I'm looking for recos for classic, ass-kicking metal from the 80s whether it actually be british or not. As long as it kicks ass and sounds like maiden.

Feel free to include the overlooked ones as well as the basics - I might have missed out on a few.

You know, I think to truly qualify as NWOBHM, and if you want to be a pedantic sunnavabitch, the album had to have been released in 1980.

Also, this has already been covered pretty extensively in this thread. It's got the Terrorizer list, but again, not everything is from 1980.

For non-NWOBHM but still relevant, look for Manilla Road's "Crystal Logic" and Brocas Helm's "Black Death".

Seconded, or kinda seconded at least. I hear it's better than Dominator, which is the only one I have and that one kicks ass.

It is indeed awesome, but I tend to forget about it.

Quartz is another good band to check out, as are Trespass and Holocaust.

Meh, "Dominator" is the second best Cloven Hoof album, with "A Sultan's Ransom" hailing from the top. The s/t rules of course, no doubt about that.
