YEs... most NU Metal is horrible... however Mudvayne is one of the most amazing bands out there right now... if you really listen to them.. they are just pure genius... and you can't argue with it.. their shit is just amazing... and i'm sorry.. emporer kicks ass... but i would agree that black metal as a whole sucks ass.. and i know there are many other genres... i just wanted to keep it as simple as possible

I saw MudVayne in concert - and they were amazing.

I'm just not a genrefied person, so sticking bands into categories is difficult for me. But from what people have listed so far, I agree on these -

Opeth - prog metal
Dimmu Borgir - black metal

Where does Nevermore fit in?

OK, I've seen to genre listings with "Classic Metal: Iron Maiden" (I think). What's that all about? As far as doing favourite band for each genre goes, I thought we'd all agree on the "Classic Metal" one...........

Looks like I was wrong, how come Black Sabbath wasn't listed under classic metal huh? What is wrong with you people!!!!!

Hearse is right, some of the most pointless and stupid arguments I've ever had were about simply trying to categorise bands for ID3 Tags, let alone ones over naming favourite bands by genre.....
