Just curious. Who is a bigger draw in America in 2015, Helloween or Blind Guardian?
Considering Helloween is only doing 5 shows while Blind Guardian is doing 19, I'll choose the latter.

Depending on the opening act I may have to make a trip to NY for this. I haven't seen them in 7 years, and they seem to have given up playing Boston.

If I had a choice where Helloween is playing a dump bar the same night as Bling Guardian at a big theater, I'm seeing Helloween, hands down. That's just my personal taste...I much prefer Helloween. Don't get me wrong, I like Blind Guardian ok, especially the stuff they did right around Imaginations From The Other Side, but Helloween is one of my all-time favorite bands. I guess it's hard to fight against the legions of Hobbit fans, though.

Just for info, they've both played the Albuquerque area (sort of). BG played Sunshine theater, which is about 800 people venue, I believe. Packed it. Helloween AND Gamma Ray came through, but they hit Camel Rock casino, which is a crappy casino way the hell out in the middle of no where between Santa Fe and Los Alamos, on a week night. There was maybe 50 people there. Which is why we'll never see them here again. Can't blame them, really, but it was some bad booking on someone's part. They would have done solid numbers at Sunshine, I would think.

Both great bands, but I think Helloween is the better live band. I love the singalong atmosphere BG creates when live, but they are a much more stiff band than Helloween, whereas Helloween have a very classic, FUN eighties vibe to their live show.

In terms of quality live performance, Gamma Ray wins my money for how much I liked the show. As far as dollars go, I'd also give the advantage to BG. I expect their tour to be well-attended this year.
