And if you would have actually READ the "getting your loudness" thread which was suggested to you

for the record, i did read this thread (and thank you for the direction)... just to quote slate "Don't get scared by the word, clipping, when done properly, is fairly inaudible." this was my point. i obviously would like to preserve my mix from any negative saturation.

either way my problem is solved by exactly this phrase... "This is what is done in major mastering houses, but by clipping very expensive A/D converters."

so: i used a lavry ad122 and was able to acheive quite the loudness without saturating the mix with poop. :p
