Yngwie, albeit talented, could have some of the worst solos of all time. I wish he would release albums without the obligatory masturbating mindless guitar widdles (because as a song writer he isn't half bad - his solos for the most part just need to be binned). I'll list him though...

another old band with incredible guitar work is Odin, featuring Jeff Duncan, (later of Armoured Saint.. )thier song "dont take no for an answer" kills.
which reminds me..Armoured Saint, with Dave Pritchard or Duncan... hmmm... old ass Savatage had tasty solos.."power of the night" is a good one.

anything by Vivian Campbell when he was with Dio..anything by warren DiMartini from ratt, especially the first two albums...

"hot on your heels" by Steeler (worst band ever) with Yngwie when he had a chip on his shoulder (HAHAHAHA)

"end of the world" by Gary Moore before he tried doing radio slop, "still got the blues" after he did radio slop

Dig out "Cautionary Warning" by John Sykes (ex Whitesnake(?)). There's both an instrumental version and one with vocals. The instrumental has much more guitar dweedling in it, but I personally like the vocalized one better. Nevertheless, this has some really tasteful guitarwork in it. Not over the top - just...right. =)
