Yeah just got wind of another great female vocal lead Norwiegen band TRIOSPHERE. I would say progressive power metal with a kick, some serious shreddy guitars and pretty powerful vocals...Here is some info from there website http://www.thetriosphere.com/news/news.html

Check them out on Myspace to hear some killer tunes

Triosphere was formed in 2004 in Trondheim, Norway, by lead guitarist Marcus Silver and bassist/vocalist Ida "Pico" Haukland. Their goal was to put together a band with the strength, focus and determination to make their musical ambitions a reality. After being in various bands and experiensing the problems related to line up changes it was also important for them to find people that they knew would become a unity to make up a monster that would last. Consequently, they spent almost 6 months searching all over Norway to find the right people to complete what was to become Triosphere.

During the fall of 2004, the last pieces of the newborn metal machinery was put into place by the skilled drummer Ørjan "Hurricane" Jørgensen and guitarist Christer Harøy. The band now consisted of four musicians who were all well experienced both on stage and in studio. To see if the line up would work as a unit, they hit the studio after only a week of rehearsing together. The result of that session became the bands first demo, which also resultet in an international record deal.

In an attempt to describe the music, one could say it is a mix of all of the members' different influences, it can be described as modern heavy metal with a strong focus on melody, fast and energetic guitar work complimented by pounding and technical drumming. This, combined with unique and incredibly strong female vocals gives the band a unique sound that they hope will catch the attention of the world's metal hearts.

They are awesome, totally differnent sound, and Ida's vocals are so powerful and man she can play also. Now where can we buy this CD.

Glenn take notice of this band, they would be one of those "Lightning strikes 3 times"

Okay, now i finally have the CD by Triosphere "Onwards" and to say it is kicking my ass would be an understatement. This band is frigging awesome, brutal yet melodic, aggressive yet progressive, and man can that Ida sing, holy crap batman, and Marcus Silver is a guitar wizard he is awesome. So do yourself a favor and get yourself an early Christmas present, you won't be sorry.

Yeah I was listening to it the other day. Its really good. Its not overly original. The funny thing was I didn't know that it was a female singing till I looked up information on the band.

I just picked up Triosphere (Onwards) this weekend and I can't stop listeneing to it. The guitar work is stellar...in fact they have an Arch Enemy feel to them. Ida the lead singer has a unique voice...sort of a more powerful version of Elise from Dark Moor. This 3-piece unit is going to be a force to be reckoned with and I would love to see them take the Prog Power stage one day. All hail the Norwegian Metal Scene!!!!!!!!!!
