PPUSA XVII Merch Haul

Not as much of a haul this year – there were a few things I was hoping to get, but they were sold out. Also, I was hoping that there might be some advance copies of the 7th Wonder DVD, but no luck. Also, I didn’t spend as much time browsing, due to not wanting to leave my seat open for too long!

Myrath – Hope (didn’t know this one existed, it’s a French import of their first album)
Vandenberg – S/T Remastered, with an expanded booklet and essay on the band’s history

1 pound of whole bean coffee from Lance. This is seriously good stuff!!

Also picked up some stuff for Cute Nephew at the High Musuem of Art – a chalkboard that looks like an artist’s palette and two books (“Frankencrayon” and “The Day the Crayons Came Home”).

As always, I spent more than I expected, but it was a good haul, even if I didn't get everything I wanted. For example, I was hoping for the 7th Wonder DVD, but I guess that hasn't been released yet. I was also hoping to get the Rage box set of Refuge-era material, but the last one sold out by the time I made up my mind. Still, there were some good finds:

The vendor room was definitely missing CdInzane, as I usually take 60-70 CDs home but this year was a little light. As the business changes I guess we have to change with it. Lance and Nightmare records had almost nothing new this year and the bands have given up on bringing much in the way of merch, so I went a little heavier on t-shirts this year.

The vendor room is the #1 biggest thing I look forward to every year, but the entire experience is always great...something new every year!
