You know, those kind of songs that just throw it all on your face and basically are telling you:"THIS IS WHAT _____ METAL IS ALL ABOUT!" Like what Metropolis Pt. 1 is to Progressive and Master of Puppets is to Thrash.

I think he means the Mastodon album, which most definitely is not representative of sludge at all.

This is much more fitting

Are they the best, necessarily? Nah. But if you had to take a track and go "okay this is what that sound is about", then I stand by those picks.
