I just saw a documentary on the "master" Dave Brubeck on TCM (written by Clint Eastwood).
If you get a chance, check it out!

Not only is he extremely talented; he is a wonderful man.

The best drum teacher I ever had was a guy who'd studied with Joe Morello, Brubeck's longtime drummer (the guy on "Take Five" etc).
I'm not much of a jazz guy but Brubeck is awesome, I love how his ensemble played with rhythm. Thanks for the tip, I'll have to check this documentary out.

I saw Brubeck and his group play a New Year's Eve show back in the 80's in a nice, small venue in Atlanta. Yes, a very talented musician!
