It goes without saying that whether you thought 2014 was a good or bad year for underground metal entirely depends on personal taste. For me, it was one of the best years of recent memory. We saw quality releases for every genre, loads of high quality death metal, some great comebacks, brilliant songwriting and musicianship, a few great debut albums and some cool collaborations. I couldn't limit to 15 and I left off some more than decent stuff. Here's to 2015, already shaping up to be great with Enslaved, Nokturnal Mortum, Omnium Gatherum, etc.
