Did anyone else catch Bruce on his book tour a couple of weeks back? I saw him in Melbourne and loved it. It took him about 10 to 15 minutes to hit his groove I think but after that it was fantastic. The Q&A section was just like having a conversation with him. Brilliant.

Has anyone else seen this? I ordered the large blu-ray/cd/vinyl pack from pledge music, but didn't get to see the film on cinema release. Looking forward to it!

Well well well...there is some fucking awesome music on this album. I think it is definitely a bit bloated and would have been a stronger 8 - 10 track album over one disc, but still it is great to hear some bullshit good songs from Metallica. Thoughts?

Looking through some old magazines I found this Metal Hammer from 2011 and got a bit of a shock at the Eddie on the cover. Surely this had to inspire the Book of Souls artwork, with the pyramid, heart and knife etc. Interesting stuff!

Anyone else check out the new Priest album? 3 listens in and I'm digging it. There is stuff on there from that sounds like Painkiller era, Killing Machine era, Screaming For Vengeance era and more. A bit of a European metal vibe in some tracks too which is unexpected. Not utterly brilliant...

Thoughts on the new Sabbath album? Tis better than I was fearing it would be. A good mix of different elements that made up the band over the years. Lots of old school riffing, blues, and heavy Dio era riffs. I'll be spending a bit more time with it for sure.

So far 2013 seems to be the year of the lineup change. Rob leaves Anthrax and joins Volbeat, Lombardo looks to be fired from Slayer for wanting more money (or for questioning where all the money was going, depends who you believe), and now Adam Duce has quit Machine Head. Interesting!
