I bought the new DT album with the 5.1 Dvd mix. I demuxed/extracted the audio from the Dvd file to .AIFF and the quality was superb, the only downfall was the inability to extract each track so it plays as one track, no biggie. NOW, I also bought it from HD Trax which is "superior" quality at 3057 kbps/96 khz. My question is why is the volume/gain much lower than my extracted Dvd 5.1 mix AIFF file as well as my WAV cd ripp during playback?

My guess is its a different mastering, with much less compression on the stereo hi-rez files.
I haven't grabbed the 24/96 files yet from HD Tracks. They are having one of their usual 10% off deals so

Yes it's a different master.
Apparently the DVD also has 24 bit files and from what I've read in other forums, is even worse than the stereo cd as far as loudness goes.
