About the Artist
December´s Cold Winter is one of Costa Rica´s most solid bands. Since they first saw the light as a band in 2000, they have won several local awards and battle of the band-type contests quickly becoming one of the country's most respected metal acts.

Their music is born from influences of such great bands as Opeth and Dimmu Borgir, and has developed into an unique style that they call " extreme melodic metal".

In 2003 the band were signed to a new Costa Rican label, today called Freak World Entertainment, and started working on their debut album. The project was produced by Eduardo Chacon with much input by the band. It was then mixed and mastered by the great Steve Austin of Today is the Day, who has also worked with bands like Voivod and Lamb of God to name a couple.

This is what Steve Austin had to say about December's Cold Winter:

"December's is one of the more creative bands on the metal scene today. Their driving rhythms crossed with evil melodies blazing on guitar...This band is going to be a classic for sure. The music takes you somewhere else. A place neither back in time or forward, but a mythological time with almost renaissance-like musical progression and baroque themed chord patterns played through massively sick and nasty metal guitars. The drumming is over the top, relentless in the vein of such powerful bands as Emperor and Opeth. Overall, December's is ready to make metal history. Listen up or you'll miss out!" - Steve Austin, 2004.
