Demon's Eye...a little Blackmore worship!

If you're looking to scratch a Deep Purple/Rainbow itch you may be having, you've got to check out "The Stranger Within" by Demon's Eye. You'd swear it was written by "The Man In Black" himself! Great stuff, and Doogie White is absolutely fantastic on vocals....he was born to sing this stuff. It's too bad Blackmore gave up on the hard rock stuff....this is a good reminder of what we're missing from him (though I do like Blackmore's Night).

Yes, good album, Doogie White is excellent on vox, as expected. Sounds maybe a little too influenced by Purple/Rainbow, with some passages that may sound familiar, but the musicians are good and it's a nice listen for fans of 70s classic hard rock stuff.

Based on the samples at http://www.demonseye.com/tsw/media/index_e.php, I am not as thrilled as you. But considering I like Doogie White, I'll deep a little deeper to find some better samples.

Based on what I heard, I think his Cornerstone albums are much better. And as for classic Blackmore sound, Joe Lynn Turner's Holy Man and Slam albums hits the nail on the head.

I agree that Cornerstone is better....I just dig the 70's vibe of Demon's Eye. I like how they explore the "Gates Of Babylon/Eyes Of The World" sounds from Rainbow.

After building up a reputation as a Deep Purple Tribute Band, they established their name as an original band with their successful debut album „The Stranger Within“ in 2011. With „Under the Neon“, Demon’s Eye will now release their second album, once again featuring Doogie White, former singer of Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow and current lead vocalist with Michael Schenker’s Temple of Rock.

The songs of „Under the Neon“ seem to fit Doogie White‘s voice like a glove, enabling him to sing with great passion and emotion. This kind of music seems to lend wings to the Scottish singer.
„Under the Neon“ contains everything that enthralls fans of classic hard rock bands: powerful vocals rich in variety as well as brilliant and virtuose solos on guitar and hammond organ.

New album is excellent, much better than the 1st one. Better songs overall, and heavier overall I'd say. Classic 70s hard rock at its best.
