I made a Mogami 5ft guitar cable and it has gold 1/4 jacks. I just tested and its has quite a bit less gain then when I'm using a stock fender cable. Is this normal at all or maybe have something to do with gold connectors and my guitar being silver or the pod?

The connections I soldered on the cable are pretty solid looking so I'm kinda stumped. Has anyone else ever had this problem when making a cable?

I made a bunch of mic cables and I'm all worried about those now. :-/

Just to chime in here, I am working on an EP for my band and we were splitting the bass sessions up into two days. I left everything setup after the first session, and didn't even turn off my PC. When the bass player came back the next day, the tone was all wrong. We couldn't figure out what the hell happened. I've never believed that a cable could have a difference on tone, but sure enough, as soon as we swapped out the cables the tone was back exactly as it was the day before.
