Metal's newest 'hype' band is another that is entirely, 100% deserving of every kind word. Their 2010 demo's been in constant rotation for me and I've been eagerly anticipating their debut full length that's out in a few weeks. Well, NPR started streaming it last night and it is truly beyond words. Simply a complete and total masterpiece of doom metal.

I fucking love these guys. I saw them at Rites of Darkness and thought they were in the top 5 bands, and I hadn't heard a note of their music beforehand. I'm listening to the NPR stream for the second time today. It's gonna be in my top albums this year, I know it.

PALLBEARER Announces Mind Burns Alive Album Along With Extensive North American Tour; “Where The Light Fades” Video Streaming​

"...Pallbearer, indisputable masters of emotionally insightful and stirring heavy music, return with their most raw and heartfelt album to date: Mind Burns Alive (May 17, Nuclear Blast Records)....

Five years in the making, with recording initially slated for 2020, and thwarted yet again in 2022, it was 2023 that saw the band members living locally to one another in Little Rock for the first time in nine years. As a group, they self-produced the album in their own, newly constructed studio (Idlewild Audio) and at Fellowship Hall Sound. Reflecting on this, bassist/vocalist Joseph D.
