They aren't prog. In fact, they are more death metal, but i seriously suggest Acheron. I've been getting really into them lately and damnit... they just kick ass.

Manilla Road - http://truemetal.org/manillaroad/main.html

These guys are considered on metal-observer.com to be the kings of Epic Metal. Here are the reviews of their albums:

1983/2000 Crystal Logic Review > 10/10 - Ralf - (Epic Metal)
1986 The Deluge Review > 10/10 - Ralf - (Heavy Metal)
1987/2000 Mystification Review > 10/10 - Paul - (Heavy Metal)
1988 Out Of The Abyss Review > 9/10 - Hawk - (Thrash Metal)
2001 Atlantis Rising Review > 9.5/10 - Ralf - (Heavy Metal)
2002 Mark Of The Beast Review > 9.5/10 - Hawk - (Epic Metal)
2002 Open The Gates Review > 10/10 - Hawk - (Heavy Metal)
2002 Spiral Castle Review > 9/10 - Ralf - (Epic Metal)

One of the highest rated bands on that site. Very, very, decent stuff. If you get a chance to listen to them, try a song like Throne of Blood or Forbidden Zone. lol Both of those songs are from a solo project of one of the MR members, but the name Manilla Road was slapped on the album anyway. Either way, the album is great (even if it's not technically Manilla Road). I'm gonna get their other albums soon.

P.S. Yeah, Madsword does totally kick ass. They're very unknown though. They don't even have a website, I don't think.

Susperia is bullshit.

Uh-oh, them are fightin' words, well atleast to the odyssey, I really don't give a crap. I wasn't that impressed with them either. I havn't had any time to check out new bands, I'm too busy moving and getting ready for progpower. :erk:

I have been listening to At Vance, Primal Fear, Zero Hour, and Madsword quite a bit these days.

These are my favorite finds for this year and highly recommended...

Disillusion
Mars Volta
7 for 4
MCM

I'm also glad to see some people have foundout about Madsword...Anyone like Mekong Delta?
