A fellow UM poster hooked me up with a copy of "The Archaic Course" and I am quite impressed with every single thing on this album, especially the clean vocals. I will definitely be investing a lot more time into getting to know this band.

In my excitement over the new album I was salivating over, I fucked up the name because I was reading an old Metal Maniacs article about Borknagar.

The album that I have is actually "Empiricism".


It still IS a great album though! And I actually have a track from TAC on a Century Media sampler I dug up ("Oceans Rise") so know I've heard both singers. Great stuff!

Interesting mistake, but fine nevertheless. I believe “Empiricism” to be the band’s finest work to day, but the other albums are enjoyable as well.

I personally find Empiricism to be their best effort, followed closely by The Olden Domain. Get that one next.

I'm the same way as the thread-maker pretty much, I never thought I'd enjoy much of Borknagar past the ST and Olden Domain, but now I'm considering getting me one of the first 3(Oceans Rise from The Archaic Course was really good).
