You could do what Greg did and have short Male/Female cables running from the back of the heads to a specific location on your shelf, so you only have one location to plug/unplug the cabinet cable into/form.

Yup its basically the same idea. Just in a patch panel. I didn't know greg was doing this. I will have to ask him some questions to possibly streamline the build.
