Is Skeletonwitch really big enough to do an 85-date North American headlining tour?

Came across these dates while looking at some metal news websites. I knew Skeletonwitch was gaining some popularity, but I wasn't aware that they were in a position to headline a tour this extensive. They're not playing huge venues or anything, but they're playing a huge number of dates, and hitting quite a few places that are off the typical North American metal tour routing.

For a band that isn't that big but who really wants to tour, this is the way to do it. Small clubs, less distance between locations, etc. Each night should make them just enough to stay above water to get to the next show.

These places are tiny. The fifty yard line in Summerville is about the size of the downstairs of my house (1100 SQ Ft). Same with the loft in Poughkeepsie. So while there are a bunch of dates, the venues are tiny...

I live in Johnson City, TN and the Hideaway is a tiny place as well. Honestly, I didn't realize they ever booked bands! You sure can't blame a band for working hard, so kudos to Skeletonwitch.

The 2 places they are playing in South Florida are tiny. The Talent Farm in Pembroke Pines is not even a proper venue... It's a studio with a stage. It's in the suburbs too, pretty far from downtown Ft. Lauderdale.

These guys are troopers. Mega props to them.

Guarantee that this tour alone will make them much more known that many prog/power bands that have been on the road for years and cant't "get out of the shadows". Tiny or not, they're exposing their brand and their music to places all over the country. Good for them.

The stop in Phoenix is in a dumpy location too. Chasers is a decent sized venue for smaller bands, but ugh, I wouldn't ever want to go back there again. I was there once, that was enough.

I do wish more bands would take this approach.

They only have ONE day off between September 14 and November 17. They better pray their bus is strong, and their bodies are stronger. That is one lunatic schedule.

I feel this should be an April Fool's joke, but it isn't April.

A band wants to dedicate a lot of time and money to tour and increase their popularity. They are probably going to be losing a lot of momey doing these tours. They're hustling to try to make it in a business that is crippled. Big investment and big sacrifice...

...and it should be a joke?

The "Kansas City" date is really in Lawrence, KS, and it's not a tiny place, really. But I think they draw pretty well there. Here's hoping they're still kicking ass after all the shows previous to this.

It is just such a lunatic schedule. I know they are trying to haul ass and build a fanbase. But, Milton, even you have to admit that their schedule from September 14th until November 17th is just insane. A flat tire could blow out an entire show. Their is just no margin for error on that leg of the tour. ESPECIALLY with only ONE DAY off.

I get it that they'll be getting their name out, the problem is with this kind of schedule, there's so many things that could go wrong.
