With our changeover to Ryko Distribution we have a full slate of releases scheduled for the rest of 2009.

Our next two releases officially street on 5/5 but we are making them available on our website a couple of weeks early.

On Sensory:
Leprous - Tall Poppy Syndrome
Tall Poppy Syndrome is the debut release from Leprous, a young Norwegian quintet hell-bent on creating innovative and experimental music. Their explorations of the dark side of metal draws inspiration from icons Emperor and Opeth, classical composition as well as 70s progressive rock.

Leprous is currently working as the touring band of solo artist “Ihsahn”, also known as the frontman of the legendary black metal band Emperor. March 2009 will find the members of Leprous on tour with Ihsahn in support of Swedish progressive death metal icons Opeth.

This dynamic listening experience comes courtesy of Jonas Kjellgren of Scar Symmetry who recorded and mixed the album.

Recommended to fans of Opeth, Arcturus, Van Der Graaf Generator, and Emperor.

On The Laser's Edge:
The Aurora Project - Shadow Border
Shadow Border is the second album from Dutch progressive rock band The Aurora Project. Their 2005 debut, Unspoken Words, brought them much acclaim in the worldwide progressive rock community. The band has twice been invited to perform at the prestigious ProgPower Europe festival in Baarlo, Netherlands. After the demise of their record label, the band signed with The Laser’s Edge in 2008. TAP creates atmospheric progressive rock with a metallic edge – this is contemporary music for a forward thinking audience. Liquid keyboard solos duel with heavy, crunch filled guitar riffs. Vocals take a theatrical approach ultimately reminding us that this is after all a prog band. Their ability to skillfully blur the fine line between prog rock and metal creates strong crossover potential that will find The Aurora Project appealing to fans of Riverside, Rush, Arena and Porcupine Tree.

I received my copy of Leprous's Tall Poppy Syndrome two days ago.

Haven't stopped listening to it since.

The quality of the music is impressive. They were able to create such amazing atmospheres in the songs, that bands like Opeth, Enslaved, Ihsahn himself and Emperor would be envious. The musicianship is top notch, and it sounds like these guys have been doing it for decades. Don't miss this, because it's truly a candidate to best album of the year.

Congratulations, Ken. This may be one of the best Sensory signings ever. I'm extremely happy with it.
