Kriss Panic of Dogday Production conducted an interview with MOTÖRHEAD drummer Mikkey Dee on July 4 at Metaltown festival in Gothenburg, Sweden. The chat has just now been posted online and can be seen below. Speaking about what he was planning to do with his free time after it was announced that MOTÖRHEAD had canceled a number of European festival appearances this past summer due to the health issues of the band's frontman, Lemmy Kilmister, Mikkey said: "I enjoy my car and I enjoy going out on the ocean and fishing. As I said in the paper, I'll probably be fishing a lot more this summer now. "And you know what's funny? This is the best... I read on the Internet. Some guys on Blabbermouth [wrote], 'Well, fuck you, Mikkey Dee. You should care more about Lemmy.' He thought I was just bummed because we're canceling shows. And I didn't say that at all. "It's funny how people react when we have to cancel. They get very disappointed, of course. And as I said in the papers, I know people plan their vacations and weddings and everything around festivals and their favorite bands. And you can just be honored by being in that position. But it's funny how these guys go, 'Well, fuck you, Mikkey. Care more about your bandmate.' And I go, 'I do care, you motherfucker. What do you think?' That's because I wrote, 'I'd like to go fishing this summer now.' That didn't mean, 'I don't like to do festivals and I hate MOTÖRHEAD. I love fishing more.'" MOTÖRHEAD's dates this past summer were called off when doctors discovered an unspecified haematoma, a pool of leaked blood gathered in Lemmy's muscles. The legendary rocker is also suffering from Type 2 diabetes, diagnosed more than a decade ago, and has had a defibrillator fitted earlier this year to iron out the uneven bumps in his heart. Lemmy takes two pills every day for his diabetes, which has affected the circulation in his legs. As a result, his legs stiffen and ache if he walks too far and his back hurts if he stands for too long.
