All these bands have new albums.

Secret Illusion - Illusion.
Greek melodic power metal. Quite good song with good vocals but cliched. Try if you are melopower junkie.

Symbolic - Portraits of Chaos
Heavier end power metal with thrashy riffs. Sounds like Megadeth if they played power metal. From El Salvador of all places so kudos to them for not sounding cheap.

Steel Aggressor - From Ruins to Dust.
Galloping US power metal with nasal vocals. Try if you enjoy Iced Earth, Cage, Panzer, etc

Desert - Star of Elusive Hopes
Israeli melodic power metal. Very dodgy accented vocals but not bad music. One song with Joakim from Sabaton.

Endless Main - Sea of Lies
Slovakian melodic power/speed. Slovakian Strato basically. Vocals a bit dodgy indeed. Music is reasonably pleasant

Highland Glory - Twist of Faith
Quality Norwegian power metal born out of the ashes of the band Phoenix Rizing. Unfortunately this album is not too good thanks to their choice to get a female singer in, cause her voice is not good IMO. She's not horrible but is a backward step as her voice has no power. By the way they've been listening to Maiden judging by this epic song.

CETI - Ghost of the Universe: Behind The Black Curtain
One of Poland's oldest and most famous power metal bands. Quite good stuff with a few rough edges. Powerful vocals from Poland's most famous power metal wailer with the impossible to spell name!

Holy Crap SECRET ILLUSION - I know the bass player Dimitris - he worked in the music store i frequented When i was working in Greece.

Highland Glory's original vocalist was Jan Thore Grefstad who is now the singer for Saint Deamon.

I'm guessing they didn't care, they just picked the best singer they could find.

We've gone from metal being male-dominated, to female singers being a fad, and now to where it's about a 50-50 split at the top of the genre(at least the melodic side of it) and the singer's sex not really defining the band anymore. Dark Moor and Fairyland went from female to male without missing a beat, Infinity Overture went from male to female. And many bands having both. It just doesn't matter anymore.

Now the fact that she isn't a very good singer, the one in Highland Glory, that's the whole problem there. Although it could just be they don't know how to make good use of their singers. I found the dude to be far less impressive in Highland Glory than he is in Saint Deamon. So it might not be her fault.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention White Skull too, from female to male to female again.

The new Highland Glory just isn't working for me. I've listened to the new album a couple of times now, and the music has changed too much with the new singer.

Desert's "Prophecy of a Madman" is a fun riding song... until the shotgun blast goes off in my earbuds and I have to weave.

This new one is tighter, good stuff.
