There does seem to be some sort of strange US Metal Festival virus going around. Here's the list I can come up with of people who have left bands just before or soon after performing at a fest in the US (PP or CPF):

Jorn Lande from Masterplan (right before PPVII)
Urban Breed (relatevely soon after CPF 2005)
Robin from Morgana Lefay (right after CPF 2006)
Kral from Mercenary (soon before PPVII)
Scott from Twelfth Gate (around CPF 2006)

What's in the water over here???

I don't see much of a pattern... band lineup changes happen all the time, it's just a coincidence if some of them happen within a year of playing US festivals. Look at Into Eternity and Adagio from a few years ago.
