Swedish metallers SOILWORK will release their first live DVD/Blu-ray, "Live In The Heart Of Helsinki", on March 13 via Nuclear Blast. The disc was recorded during the band's special show on March 21, 2014 at Circus Club in the Finnish capital and features guest appearances by Floor Jansen (NIGHTWISH, REVAMP) and Nathan J. Biggs (SONIC SYNDICATE).

Commented SOILWORK frontman Björn "Speed" Strid: "There could've not been a better time than now [to release a live DVD], with 10 albums out and a very varied back catalogue to choose from.

"Our lineup now is 50 percent original members and 50 percent fresh blood, which makes it all more interesting. Especially since the newest members have brought so much to our sound and have continued to inspire us to write new and exciting music and also brought a newfound energy on stage. Now is definitely the time to see us. Trust me."

The DVD was produced by Jouni Markkanen and directed by Ville Lipiäinen, who also worked on the most recent NIGHTWISH DVD, "Showtime, Storytime".

When I first heard that Soilwork were finally releasing a live DVD I was quite excited, and was ready to make a blind purchase. But after seeing the release details, I'm not so sure. Only HALF of the concert on DVD/Blu-ray? I'm a big fan of live concert videos, but most of the time I really couldn't care less about live albums (audio only); when bands release DVD/CD live packages I rarely -- if ever -- listen to the CDs (ex. NIGHTWISH - Showtime, Storytime).

I would much rather they had released the entire concert -- all 23 songs -- only as a DVD/Blu-ray and not included any CDs if they wanted to keep costs down.

I'm pretty sure they just formatted the tracklist weirdly to save space when writing the original article.

From SOILWORK WELCOMES NEW BASSIST MARKUS WIBOM, FORMERLY OF HEARTS ALIVE

"...In celebration of The Ride Majestic’s impending release, Soilwork have released a live video of their hit song “Let This River Flow” feat. Nightwish/Revamp singer Floor Jansen, which comes off Soilwork’s most recent DVD/Blu Ray output, Live In The Heart Of Helsinki."

Added vocalist Björn “Speed” Strid: "I was really excited to work with Floor Jansen, especially since we haven't had any female guest artists featured on anything Soilwork-related before. I first got to know Floor via email some years ago, when she asked me to do some guest vocals for her other amazing band Revamp. I was absolutely thrilled, since I really respect her as a singer - she can do it all: amazing clean vocals, powerful high and low screams and can shape her voice into just about anything. I thought I'd "return the favour" and ask her to do “Let This River Flow” with me for our live DVD in Helsinki and boy did it turn out amazing! It was really cool to meet her in person as well, her presence is majestic and she has a great sense of humor. I think our voices match perfectly in this almost anthemic song, which showcases a lot of different types of vocals."
