I was surprised to see how many of the Scandanavians dip snuff. I shouldn't have been surprised though; the biggest sellers in this country are named Skoal and Copenhagen after all.

My buddy Johan who has since moved back to Sweden was a dipper. He told me it is very big in the culture over there. When I went to Sweden I was in the train station in Gothenburg and remember dip being sold in vending machines.

Snuff is actually derived from Swedish snus to start with. It was Swedish immigrants who brought it to North America in the 19th century.

Dipping isn't considered nearly as redneck-ish here as in NA, you can easily find some random doctor or CEO who dips.
