All I have to say in this thread is I finally checked out "At the Heart of Winter"... and I think I finally see why Immortal is so popular. Good stuff!

I'd rate it among the top five metal albums of ANY genre. Absolutely brilliant. Not BM though. Although they began as a BM band and are still considered one (thus why I voted Immortal in this poll), ATHOW is more riff-oriented than their earlier stuff.

But more to the point, I'm glad you checked it out.
