ANTHRAX members Scott Ian (guitar), Charlie Benante (drums) and Frankie Bello (bass) regrouped in Benante's hometown of Chicago last week to begin working on material for the band's upcoming studio album.

Commented Ian: "Started writing the new record Friday (March 2]. Five killer songs. We wrote the fastest, sickest riff we've ever played today [Sunday, March 4]. It's out of control."

ANTHRAX announced its split with vocalist Joey Belladonna in January less than two years after the group's classic lineup reunited for a "25th anniversary" tour. Benante said at the time, "I tried so hard to make things work and put in hours and hours or phone calls or as I'd like to call it 'therapy.' Certain people have 'issues,' had 'em in the '80s/'90s and still have them to this day. I think it's true that some people are best at what they do worst...

"I just want OUR FANS to know that I live and breathe this band called ANTHRAX but certain others could give a shit about you. Don't let em tell you different, this is the TRUTH. I don't want to hear or read, 'Well, he said this or he said that...' I know the truth as to how it all went down.

"Hang in there with us. The core of this band will blow it up once again and you won't remember what happened before this.

"My goal is to make the best music we can make, but we want to do it with people that WANT TO DO IT!

"...No time for losers, 'cause... you know the rest."

Dan's tone isn't that good and he always has amp problems. If your amp always goes out you'd think you'd get better gear. It's just as important as playing talent.

Rob always sounds great and had really awesome tone (actually his tone was thicker than Scott's sometimes).

If they want to have Bush in Anthrax family again they should keep Dan Spitz. I like Rob, but I think that Spitz is one of the best lead guitarists on the world. He play killer freaky solos.

Dan's heart seems to be elsewhere with his family and watchmaking, and good luck to him.

I am one of those fans you let hang in the rain when SOD played clinto, Io and you refused to come off your bus and say hi. I can't believe after all this reunion shit you guys refuse to acknowledge that you are the main problem of the band. Your failure is yours, the dissapointment is ours..

Hmmm... why don't they become a 3 piece hardcore unit? Scott can do vocals - sing real hardcore style - he did with Protest & Survive.

I could handle an album like that. Hell why not!

They never were and never could be. Hardcore is an attitude, you had to have lived it to understand it..

I might get hell for this, but I didnt really think highly of Rob. His solos were wank and unmemorable. I'd rather hear Dan Spitz or even Charlie doing the solos on the album.

Bring back Bush and we'll be in business. It'll be the Volume 8 lineup all over again \m/\m/

btw, I'm back after a 2 year hiatus on this forum due to the influx of members and the lack of personality on this board since the reunion. Sorry if I'm seeming like an asshole. =D
