A fine chap who calls himself Jnif at the REAPER forums has created Python scripts that allow REAPER to function similarly to Pro Tools with comping and punching.
It is a little bit more involved than in Pro Tools and Python must be installed to use the scripts, but I am pretty thrilled with them so far. I figured some people here might be interested.
I have included the download to the latest version of the scripts but it is worth checking the thread as there is a lot of information on how to use these scripts in there and he updates them very quickly.
