Another band I have started to enjoy, though I dont know if many people here would, is Darkspace. They play... Ambient Metal? I dunno really. Maybe ambient drone.
 
The Lord Weird Slough Feg: One of the funnest and coolest heavy metal bands (with a lot of folk elements here and there) to ever exist. They create very elaborate albums that are very smart and compel you to listen to them over and over. John Cobbett (vocals/guitar) is also one of the most unique vocalists I've ever heard. Hammers of Misfortune: This is John Cobbett's side-project that almost matches the greatness of Slough Feg. This band utilizes his vocals as well as female vocals, and they work together very well. Hammers is also a little more folkish (and a bit more experimental) whereas Slough Feg is more heavy metal. Nebelung: Very haunting and ultimately cool folk/acoustic act from Germany. I found out about them from Negură Bunget's friend's page on myspace and they were a good find indeed. Always Agalloch, and why the hell not!

I was doing some thinking about music the other day. I decided that what I absolutely LOVE is layering clean vocals or sweet clean vocal harmonis. Kinda like some stuff off Against the Seasons, as well as in Ulver's 'Bergtatt', Agalloch's stuff (particularly 'Not Unlike the Waves'). Stuff like that. Thoroughly makes me happy in pants. I like it in a black/death/doom/prog kind of atmosphere. Anyone have some recommendations?

It's actually Mike Scalzi who plays guitar does all the vocals for Slough Feg and the Hammers albums. He is no longer in Hammers.
