Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax - Big Four US Tour Dates coming

I wonder if this will be like Manowar's one show only then add a few more after it sells out? I dont see them not exploiting this cash cow. I am sure there will be more shows added.

Absolutely. I think we'll get a summer tour. I'm just curious where this will be when it hits Chicagoland.

I hope for anyones sake it isnt at that hellhole in Tinely park. The sound there was just terrible for Maiden. Are they still doing shows at the race track out in Joliet or something?

I was thinking about Joliet too or the Horsetrack in Arlington Heights. I still would like to see this in Toyota Park. Anything but Tinley!!!!

I doubt Arlington Heights. That place is immaculate.

Maybe one of the two speedways Metallica played.
I was at both of those.
The one where the HARD ROCK Festival took place was great.
The one where Summer Sanitarium was wasn't so great, from what I recall.

Well, I would seriously doubt if this was going to be a full blown US tour it would be in April or May. As you guys said, this is probably a test the waters show. Not sure why they would do this. It's pretty much a given that it will do well in any city.

Who knows? Could even be Soldiers Field.

You referring to the Re-Load tour, or the Lollapalooza?

I was at neither, but I heard they weren't very good venues.

07/05/1998 Winnebago County Fairgrounds

My bad, this was in Pecatonica, IL, not Peoria. I didn't go to this either but heard it was a complete mess from a lot of people.

I have seen all of these bands (some multiple times) except Megadeth. I am not extremely interested. If they replaced Anthrax with Testament, I might be interested though.

Ok, that was the Re-Load tour.
I believe Jerry Cantrell and Days of the New (who at the time were critically acclaimed to be the second coming of christ!) opened.

Ok - so let's turn the tables a bit in this thread.
Not much else to discuss about the BIG 4 since it is just one show (for now).

Who would be the next BIG 4 (US Thrash only)?

Was never a Days of the New fan but Jerry Cantrell had a bad ass album out at the time. They would play this song endlessly on Rock 103.5.
