    New Roy Khan Song (religious)

Good to hear him singing again, even if I have no interest in "praise" music

    Helloween - Pumpkins United

Man, you know this place is officially dead when I am the one posting a reunion Helloween song almost a day after it came out. It is a fun song if you disregard the dumb lyrics (which is something you have always had to do with this band)

Gofundme for Clay from Vangough's sick rabbit

I saw this on Vangough's FB page and thought I would share it here. They have given me a lot of enjoyment over the years and Clay has been super friendly and cool when I met him at PP and at other shows. So I thought I would help out and see if anyone else here felt the same. Here is the...

    Cromonic - Time

Stumbled upon this, sounds like a band that might blow some sunshine up some skirts here

    Voyager - Ghost Mile

Voyager launched a Pledgemusic campaign for their new album Ghost Mile. If you have liked their music or their performances at PPUSA, go throw them some money. http://www.pledgemusic.com/projects/voyager

    Vangough - Warpaint

Man, between this the new Pain of Salvation and Need, it is an amazing year if you like melodic and emotional prog metal. I cannot wait, plus that cover is badass. "Vangough’s latest musical world, Warpaint, ferments their audacious songwriting style across seven formidable yet emotionally...

    Ninjaspy - Speak

Sweet merciful crap! Someone posted this on the prog metal subreddit. This song straight slapped me across the face. Think of a power trio with some of the quirkiness of Mr. Bungle mixed with an angrier early Pain of Salvation vibe. Or whatever, just give it a listen ;)

Riverside to continue! (Trio w/ session guitarist)

Pain of Salvation - In The Passing Light Of Day

Maybe I have not been paying attention, but this is the first I have heard anything as far as a title and release date (Jan 2017) for their new album. Some details in the article. http://www.betreutesproggen.de/2016/09/daniel-gildenloew-pain-of-salvation-on-the-upcoming-album/

    Prog Power XVII Hype Thread

I know it seems like people have moved on to much cooler pastures, but I figure I would see how people are doing a few weeks out. What band are you looking forward to most? Which band has surprised you most in you pre PP prep? having a hard time getting into any band? which band do you think...

Are we all going to pretend this never happened?

Because this is downright awful  This is to test those people that always say that they could listen to Jorn sing anything. I love Jorn's voice and when he is working with a strong writer (Ark, Beyond Twilight, Ayreon) he makes amazing music. But his solo stuff is often beyond embarrassing.

Virtual Symmetry - For fans of Circus Maximus and 90's prog metal

Found this Italian band on Facebook. While not totally original, I do enjoy the vocals and the call back to that warm fuzzy 90's prog metal sound.

    New Arion featuring Elize Ryd

Kinda like their older singer a little better, but this is pretty killer. I can't wait for the album.

    New Geoff Tate music

:lol::lol: The newest Queesnryche album, while not spectacular. reminded me what I once loved about the band. These samples sounds like something left over from the HiTNF or Q2K session and reminds me of the empty husk they became. I thought maybe going solo might be his chance to...

The Great Discord - great new prog metal

Discovered these guys (and gal) today and I was blown away by the couple songs I have heard. They are female fronted, but they are not symphonic. Also they have a modern prog metal feel without being too Djenty or worshipping BTBAM. Check it out and see if you dig it as much as I did.

What would you pay for your favorite album

The other thread about Spotify has brought up some interesting discussions about music and the monetary value. So I was thinking about how much my favorite albums are worth to me. Now this is more of a personal thought exercise than any sort of commentary on the free market and the actual...

    Lyric Videos

Dear Metal Artists, Let us have a talk about lyrics videos. I know they are a great cheap way to promote your music in a dynamic way. Most smaller bands do not have the budget to do a video or several videos. So it is a great affordable way to generate buzz about your band or album album...

Which Set are you Most Intrigued About this Year?

So which band or set are you most curious about this year? I mean the band that you know less about or have heard less off, but are excited to see what they can do live? For example while I am most excited to see the big albums this year (Remedy Lane, Mercy Falls, etc), I am really curious...

Machine Head, C.O.B., Epica and Battlecross Tour

This looks like it is a reality. It is a diverse line-up, but I am pretty excited. Would rather see an Epica headline tour, but like this line-up alot. http://www.metalinsider.net/touring/rock-and-shock-fest-leaks-machine-head-children-of-bodom-tour Now commence arguing about which of these...
