This made me think, which 'recent' albums would I consider to be my favourites. As usual it's near impossible to list just one, so try 5.

I'd have to say..

1- TestAmenT Low
2- Nevermore Dead Heart In A Dead World
3- Dream Theater Awake
4- Bruce Dickinson The Chemical Wedding
5- Alice Cooper Brutal Planet

Out of these, probably only Low would make top 5 of all time.
(I listened to it again this week after leaving it for months, and I couldn't believe how awesome it was! It was the album that got me into the 'heavier' side of metal. :D )

Your thoughts?

Horror Show - Iced Earth
Something Wicked This Way Comes - Iced Earth
Demons and Wizards - Demons and Wizards
Dark Saga - Iced Earth
Night Of The Stormrider - Iced Earth

Easy :) If I had to include stuff before 92 I would have been in more trouble!

Honourable mentions:
Brave New World - Iron Maiden: Awesome album, just a little too long in some songs is the only fault I can have with it, a classic!

SFAM - Dream *TheatER*<-- Thats for you spiff ;) : Awesome as well, talk about a headphones record :)

Dead Heart In A Dead World - Nevermore: Goes from brutally heavy to quiet acoustic with ease, fantastic lyrics, brilliant musicianship!

The Chemical Wedding - Bruce Dickinson: Great as well, but a few weaker songs on the end of the album hold it out of my top 5 :)

Im sure you guys will name about 100 albums I'll think are great too, thats the problem with these lists, they are too hard to choose.........well if you dont include Iced Earth anyway ;)
