I've got your NWOBHM right here, this kicks ass!!! Can't wait to hear the album, hopefully one of the vendors will have it tonight, really going back to that early Sykes infused sound...
Yeah that one is the most immediate but I quite like the whole album, definitely takes a few listens and it helps if you are a fan of early NWOBHM, but along with Striker's STAND IN THE FIRE album this is one of my favorites of the year so far...
For sure Scott, the show was in a really small club in Atlanta but it was fantastic, took me back to the old days! Here are a few pics, hope you get to see them soon, you'll love it!!!!
Yes that is cool artwork! This reminds me of stuff I was listening to in '84 but that's a good thing, looking forward to hearing
a full album with better production soon...
Interesting power metal from the U.K., a bit rough-around-the-edges but some cool influences, NWOBHM with some early Helstar, Fates Warning and Labyrinth blended in, gonna be watching 'em!
A baker's dozen from me for now (12 albums and 1 E.P.), so much I didn't get to! *sigh* Not really in order:
Iron Maiden - BOOK OF SOULS
Serious Black - AS DAYLIGHT BREAKS
Vanden Plas - CHRONICLES OF THE IMMORTALS: NETHERWORLD II
Sweet/Lynch - ONLY TO RISE
Pyramaze - DISCIPLES OF THE SUN...
CONTAGIOS is excellent, like all Y&T albums, some great melodic hard rock on that one - my favorite is EARTHSHAKER, followed by MEAN STREAK and BLACK TIGER, fantastic...
Yeah this one just gets better the more you hear it, definitely requires repeated listens to "get it" but awesome, surely the best they've done in over 20 years and like you, I'd put it up there with their late '80s early '90s material, excellent...
